Built in 1913, the Franklin Carnegie Library is one of the 4 (out of 31) Carnegie Libraries in Texas being used for its original purpose as a library.
 

In the Mt. Pleasant Church Cemetery, about four miles Southeast from Franklin on FM 2446, you'll find the final resting place of Walter Williams; the last Civil War soldier of either side to die.
